This series on 2 Timothy originates from Dr. Kuo's chapel preaching at OTS. I'm pleased to see its revised edition being available to preachers all over Chinese churches.
Dr. Kuo grasps the issue of leadership within 2 Timothy to show how important it is both for Paul and for today's leadership. The baton of leadership is a real key to success in building every generation of Christian. Transitions can be tricky business. In 2 Tim., Paul lays out clear principles as to how this baton should be passed. In this helpful collection of sermons, Dr. Kuo once again reminds us of the legacy of leadership that is so sorely needed in the Chinese church.
Many leaders of the Chinese church are eager to continue working until they meet their grave. In reality, Paul's vision of leadership leads quite a different direction. In 2 Timothy, Paul had shown clearly that he had adequately prepared Timothy long ago. His death would not adversely impact the churches he founded. How many of our Christian leaders have the same insight? Let everyone who has ear listen to this message being preached afresh by the writing of Dr. Kuo and be blessed by it.
I like the one feature of the book that has a set of reflection questions at the end. These questions are beneficial for group discussions, for preaching application and personal devotions. This work is both spiritually and intellectually sound. I highly recommend every preacher, seasoned or novice, to consult this important work.

I often wonder why any pastor could not study and meditate on the message of II Timothy on a regular basis.
Dr. Kuo shared these messages at our church this year.
I thank God for using Dr. Kuo to inspire me to do a personal concentrated study of II Timothy for the first time.
It has helped me to understand my roles and responsibilities as a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I highly recommend the book for those pastors who desire to be faithful undershepherds of Jesus Christ and dedicated members of the Church.
